At Simple Living Innovations we create, test and share simple DIY technologies that will enable all humans ways to live simply, well and close to nature while having minimal harmful impact on the planet. The solutions shared here have the aim of making simple living technologies accessible and affordable to everyone and anyone anywhere on the planet.
All Innovations have a focus on being DIY, open source, grass roots and affordable, with a strong emphasis on minimizing negative environmental impact. The Innovations developed and shared here are designed to be long lasting / repairable and upgradable and not part of much of today’s consumer / disposable technologies. The solutions shared on this website are meant to last and be upgraded and repaired. Read here to find out more on why ethics are so important to us.
The aim is that the innovations shared here are around energy, water, cooking, food growing, and other essentials needed to live a good quality yet simple lifestyle close to nature. We realize that anyone or any creature for that matter living on this planet has an impact and some of that impact can be seen as “negative” or harmful in some form or shape, so its not that we don’t have a “negative” impact, its more about how can we minimize our “negative” impact while still living a simple and good quality way of life. Asking ourselves the question “is the negative impact I’m leave necessary and done as mindfully as possible”.
All designs are to be used and shared freely as we believe that everyone should be able to live well and simply with a low environmental impact and we would like to assist in that. You are welcome to make any of these designs for yourself, a friend or family member, your business or even to sell. We would appreciate any donations you are willing to make towards us, as this would help us continue developing new designs to share on this website.
If you do decide to make any of these creations to sell, all we ask is that you keep the products you make within our ethics ethos, most importantly producing the products with minimal negative impact to all on the planet while keeping them affordable, open source, repairable and made to last. We ask that you make them mindfully and not just for maximum profit. Also, if you do make any of these designs to sell, we would ask that you consider donating to us as we feel that an exchange would be appropriate and this will also enable us to continue creating more useful creations.
